KAS Exam Date - Complete Details

The KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission) organizes exams to choose deserving applicants for the Karnataka Administrative Services position (KAS). However, the date for the KPSC KAS exam in 2021 has not yet been confirmed. However, in light of the present COVID-19 situation, Karnataka Public Service Commission will issue an official notice soon with the updated KAS exam date.

  • There are three stages to the KAS Exam process: prelims, mains, and interview.
  • Candidates should also be aware of the entire KPSC KAS syllabus to start preparation accordingly.
  • Along with the KPSC KAS official notification, the KPSC KAS Admit Card will be issued. The KPSC official website is the sole place where candidates may verify and get their respective admission cards.

Although the KPSC KAS notice has not yet been released, aspirants should be informed of the KPSC KAS exam date to begin their preparation. The Karnataka PSC officials will announce the KPSC KAS Exam Date for the prelims stage of the exam. The Mains exam will be held when the prelims and selection procedure are completed. Exam Pattern 

The Prelims and Mains written exams are part of the KPSC KAS Exam Pattern. Candidates who pass the preliminary exam are qualified to take the main exam. The table below shows the KPSC's Karnataka Administrative Services test pattern, adopted by both of these exams. The following are essential points that candidates should be aware of.

  • The preliminary exam consists of two papers, whereas the main exam consists of nine.
  • Candidates will have two hours for each paper in the preliminary examination.
  • A wrong answer in the preliminary exam will result in a 0.25 negative marking.
  • The question paper is written in English as well as in Kannada.
  • The Prelims test consists of multiple-choice questions, while the Mains exam consists of descriptive questions.

Selection Process for KPSC's KAS

As previously stated, there are three parts to the KPSC process, two of which are written tests and one of which is a personal interview. The selection procedure is set up in such a way that the Commission may thoroughly evaluate each applicant. Because a person in the position of KAS has enormous and critical obligations, only the best candidates should be chosen.

  • Preliminary examination: It is a screening exam in which candidates are chosen on their performance in humanities subjects and general knowledge. The exam is a multiple-choice type. The preliminary exam has been rescheduled. Both Papers I and II will take place on the very same day.
  • Mains Written Exam: The KAS Mains exam day will be announced after the prelims selection is finished. The main test will consist of nine papers, two of which will be qualifying. The exam assesses the applicants' specialized knowledge of their chosen field in addition to their general knowledge.
  • Personal Interview: Following the mains exam, candidates chosen for the interview is three to five times the number of openings. A panel will interview these candidates to assess their practical knowledge, decision-making skills, and mental agility.
