UPPSC PCS Eligibility 2021 - Age, Education

The Public Services Commission of Uttar Pradesh has released a fresh examination calendar for 2021. The UPPSC is a state agency that conducts the Civil Services examinations. The commission conducts the examinations for the entry-level posts to various Group A and Group B Civil Services of the State. The commission conducts the PCS and ACF/ RFO Examination to fill in the vacancies of Group A and Group B officers in the administrative services of the state government. The examination for these recruitments is conducted in three stages:

  • Preliminary examination
  • Mains examination
  • Interview

UPPSC PCS Eligibility Criteria

The UPPSC PCS examination eligibility criteria for age limits, relaxations qualifications, and other requirements are given below:

UPPSC PCS Eligibility: Age Limit

The PCS examination (Combined State/ Upper Subordinate Services Examination ) age limit is:

  • The Minimum age required is 21 years
  • The Maximum age permissible is 40 years

According to the notification, the age relaxations for different categories and posts for the UPPSC PCS examination are mentioned below:

Group- ‘B' posts for the Emergency Commissioned Officers or Short Service Commissioned Officers / Ex-Army Personnel with 5 years experience5 years age limit relaxation

In cases of Emergency Commissioned/Short Service Commissioned Officers, the age relaxation is as mentioned below:

  • According to the new notification, the emergency commissioned/short service commissioned officers who have not been released by the Army and are on the extended rehabilitation need to produce a certificate of the Navy, Army, or Air Force authority and another certificate affirming that no case of disciplinary action is continuing against them. Also, a written undertaking must be released from the army service as soon as they are recruited in the PCS services.

Candidates willing to claim benefits of age relaxation or reservation must have:

  • A category certificate issued by a competent authority.
  • Should be a domicile of UP
  • In the case of female candidates, the domicile or caste certificate issued from the paternal side will be considered valid.
  • Male candidates having more than one wife (alive) will not be eligible unless granted exemption by the Governor of the State.
  • Female candidates who are married to an already married man whose wife is alive will not be eligible unless the Governor of the state grants exemption.
  • Pregnant Female candidates (12weeks or more) will be considered temporarily unfit.
  • Candidates claiming reservations and age relaxation in more than one category will be entitled to only one concession, whichever is more beneficial.

UPPSC PCS Eligibility: Educational Qualification

To be eligible for the  UPPSC PCS examination 2021, the candidate must graduate from a recognized University. The candidates writing their graduation examination can also appear for the UPPSC PCS examination. But, they must submit the final year marks when submitting the UPPCS main exam Detailed Application Form (DAF) submission. 

The commission does not specify any required percentage to be scored by a candidate in their degree course. Candidates having any percentage in the degree can apply and appear for the UPPSC PCS examination.

UPPSC PCS Eligibility: Physical Measurements

The PCS examination eligibility also includes Physical Measurements/Fitness for various posts. Candidates need to undergo a medical test after the interview to be considered eligible.

Physical Measurements for the following posts for UPPSC PCS 2021 are :

  1. Assistant Conservator of Forest
  2. Range Forest Officer
  3. Dy. Superintendent of Police
  4. Superintendent of Jail
  5. District Commandant Home Guards
  6. Excise Inspector etc.

Physical Measurements Qualifications for the Assistant Conservator of Forest for UPPSC:

For Male category: 

  • Height: 163 centimetres
  • Chest girth: 84 centimetres
  • Expansion: 5 centimetres

For Female category:

  • Height: 150 centimetres
  • Chest girth: 79 centimetres
  • Expansion: 5 centimetres

The minimum standard of height in the case of candidates belonging to the scheduled tribes’ category and those to races like Gardhwalis, Gorkhas, Nepalese, Meghalayan Tribes, Assamese, Laddakhese, Bhutanese, Sikkimese, Kuamaunies, Nagas & Arunachal Pradesh, is mentioned below:

Height for Male category: 152.5 centimetres 

Height for Female Category: 145 centimetres

Physical Measurements for Range Forest Officer for UPPSC PSC

For Male category: 

  • Height: 163 centimetres
  • Chest girth: 84 centimetres
  • Expansion: 5 centimetres

For Female category:

  • Height: 150 centimetres
