• The exam conducting authority of XAT follows a negative marking scheme to calculate the total score of the candidates.
• It calculates the XAT score for each candidate based on the raw scores secured in each section of the examination.
• For each incorrect response, it deducts 0.25 marks, whereas, for each correct response, it gives 1 mark.
• There is no deduction of marks for questions that remain unanswered. But, if candidates leave more than 8 questions unanswered, the authority deducts 0.10 marks per question left unanswered above the threshold of 8 questions.
• Then, authority calculates the individual marks scored in each section and adds all the individual marks to get the candidate's raw score.
• They rank candidates according to their overall performance in the XAT 2022 exam.
