SSC CGL 2022 Syllabus: SSC CGL is the Combined Graduate Level conducted for filling up officer & assistant level posts in various ministries and departments of the Central Government. Tier-III Syllabus

The syllabus for the Tier-III exam is different as it is a descriptive paper. All those who have qualified for the Tier-II need to appear for the Tier-III exam. The descriptive paper for Tier-III is introduced for testing the writing skills of the candidates. This will be a pen and paper-based round and will be conducted offline. The details of the exam are mentioned below.

Tier-IV Syllabus

The Tier-IV syllabus of SSC CGL is based on computer skills. In this phase, the candidates are tested for their typing skills and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and slide creation. The two steps of evaluation are as follows

  1. Skill Test in Data Entry (DEST) Test
  2. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) Test.

In DEST the candidates need to type 2000 words in 15 minutes, this is mandatory for the Tax Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax) posts.

In the second test i.e CPT, the candidate is evaluated on computer skills like word processing, spreadsheets and PowerPoint slides, in other words, candidates are tested for knowledge in the office suite. This test is taken for CSS, MEA, Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner) posts.

These tests are qualifying in nature, a candidate has to clear the previous tiers as well as this tier in order to be selected for the posts.
