SSC Stenographer Salary

The salary of the SSC- Stenographer varies according to their grade. The salary of the Stenographer Grade C is more than the Stenographer Grade D. The Grade C Stenographer is also provided DA (Dearness Allowance), HRA (House Rent Allowance), and TA (Traveling Allowance).

The salary for both  posts Grade- C and Grade- D stenographer is mentioned below:

SSC Stenographer Salary | Allowances

The HRA (House Rent Allowance), DA (Dearness Allowance), and TA (Travel Allowance) vary by location, so the salary also varies based on the place of Posting. 

Stenographer Grade C: These are posted in Delhi only.

Stenographer Grade D: There are 2 groups, as given below.

Group X: For Central Government Ministries located mostly in Delhi.

Group Y: For Central Government Ministers and offices including Attached/ Subordinate Offices located in other States and Union Territories of India.

SSC Stenographer Job Profile

The job responsibilities of a stenographer depend on the Grade and the place of Posting. Their main job is to assist their supervisors or seniors in various Government departments and ministries.
